3D printing or additive manufacturing is a technology in which 3D objects are printed by depositing a thin layer of material layer-by-layer until a final product is produced. In this research work, it has been focused on the fabrication of a Portable 3D Printer for the manufacturing of sample parts by using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process. The primary process parameters such as nozzle temperature, extrusion speed and fill density in addition to their interactions are studied. It has been observed that these process parameters influence the dimensional accuracy and extrusion time of the part produced by the process of FDM. The main objective of the research work is to create a reliable and cost efficient 3-D printer and to minimize the dimensional variation that usually occurs to plastic parts produced by 3D printers. Cartesian mechanism has been used where the print bed moves in the Z direction and the extruder moves in both the X and Y directions. The 3D printing filament that has been used is made of Poly Lactic Acid or Poly Lactide (PLA). The process involved 3D solid modeling to design, 3D printing with coated adhesive applied on the printing platform, measurement of dimensional variation of the printed parts and statistical analysis. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) based desirability analysis has been employed for optimization of FDM process parameters namely, nozzle temperature, extrusion speed and fill density. Mathematical models were developed and tested for accuracy and extrusion time using Design Expert 11 software for RSM application.

Internet-based financial systems and communications have entered a new phase with the advent of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. The new economic system with its transparency, privacy, and peer-to-peer networking, has attracted the attention of economists. The advent of cryptocurrencies has brought new blood into the veins of blockchain technology and accelerated its growth. After a decade of cryptocurrency lifetime, it is necessary to identify key components to develop the use of this technology. The aim of this study is to identify the indicators needed to develop the use of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in financial systems. A total of six indicator groups were identified including technology, legislation, cybersecurity, regulatory methods, public acceptance, and investment. For this purpose, the three-round Delphi study is used to elicit expert opinions. Calculation of Kendall’s W coefficient shows a high degree of concordance of experts' opinions in determining the indicators. The indicators presented in this research can be a helpful guide for governments and economic sections to develop the use of blockchain technology in financial systems.

One of the fields studied in the science of heat physics is the thermoelectric phenomenon. This phenomenon is in fact the interaction between the current of electricity and the thermal properties of a system. In simpler terms, it is a phenomenon in which the direct conversion of a temperature difference to voltage occurs. In this paper, we introduced a method based on the finite difference technique for solving a fractional differential equation in the field of thermal physics which describes the thermoelectric phenomena, numerically. For this purpose, we used fractional order derivatives with the definitions of Caputo, finite differences with the second order central finite-difference approach, and the first order central finite-difference. By using this method, we translate the desired differential equation to a system of nonlinear differential equations which can be solved. Finally, some numerical are used to demonstrate the effective and accuracy of the scheme. The obtained numerical results show that our proposed method is highly accurate.

There are currently two ways to vote in India. They are secret ballots and electronic vote machines, but these two processes have some limitations or disadvantages. The current system is also insecure. Many people miss the opportunity to vote simply because they need to go to the polling station and wait for several places to vote. In this paper, we proposed a voting method. In our method, the voting process has three security stages. The first stage is facial recognition, the second stage is Election ID (EID) number verification, and the third stage is One-Time-Password (OTP) verification using the user's mobile phone number registered.

During the past years, extensive studies have been performed on concretes containing rice husk ash and recycled aggregates, which have shown the advantages of those concretes. Comparison of recycled concrete materials from the aggregates of quarrying plants for use in laboratory mixtures is the difference between this study and previous studies in this field. In addition to mechanical tests and evaluation of the performance of recycled concrete and comparison of ordinary concrete, the evaluation of the design economy and environmental protection are also examined. The main purpose of this study is to achieve and introduce the most optimal conditions for the use and application of recycled stone materials in concrete production. Evaluate and compare the effectiveness of each of the hardened concrete parameters such as mechanical properties and engineering properties (compressive and tensile strength) as a result of using recycled aggregate replacement values, as well as conserving environmental resources that are non-renewable in many industries. Or renewed over very long periods of time, reducing construction waste and environmental pollution, creating employment and economic benefits are other goals pursued in this study.

In this paper, a two-stage model is designed for arranging and locating vehicle routes with simultaneous pickup and delivery. The model developed in the first stage optimizes the arrangement of products in packages and thus optimizes packages' length, width, and height for delivery to customers. In the second stage, the goal is to provide customers with vehicle in simultaneous pickup and delivery. In this part of the model, the location of distribution centers is potentially considered, and the demand and cost parameters are considered uncertain. To solve the problem, precise methods and meta-heuristic algorithms of PSO for the first stage and multi-objective meta-heuristic algorithms NSGA II and MOALO for the set have been used. The results of examining the efficiency of the algorithms in the second stage show the high efficiency of the MOALO algorithm with a valuable weight of 0.8388. Therefore, to implement the model in the real problem (Golrang Broadcasting Company), the MOLAO algorithm has been used, the management results include obtaining 15 efficient answers.

Process capability indices are widely used to assess whether the outputs of an in-control process meet the specifications. The commonly used indices are , , and . In most applications, the quality characteristics are assumed to follow normal distribution. But, in practice, many quality characteristics, e.g. count data, proportion defective etc. follow Poisson or binomial distributions, and these characteristics usually have one-sided specification limit. In these cases, computations of or using the standard formula is inappropriate. In order to alleviate the problem, some generalized indices (e.g. index, index, index and index) are proposed in literature. The variant of these indices for one-sided specification are and , and ¸ and , and respectively. All these indices can be computed in any process regardless of whether the quality characteristics are discrete or continuous. However, the same value for different generalized indices and or signifies different capabilities for a process and this poses difficulties in interpreting the estimates of the generalized indices. In this study, the relative goodness of the generalized indices is quantifying capability of a process is assessed. It is found that only or gives proper assessment about the capability of a process. All other generalized indices give a false impression about the capability of a process and thus usages of those indices should be avoided. The results of analysis of multiple case study data taken from Poisson and binomial processes validate the above findings.

5S is a systematic approach that helps to organize a workplace for increasing efficiency and reduce wasting of productivity by providing an organized safe environment. The objective of this paper is to emphasize the implementation of 5S principles for the workplace by reflecting a tooling problem of a manufacturing unit. This article examines the challenges experienced in the implementation of 5S methodology to optimize labor and safety in a manufacturing department by showing the gap of productivity caused while not having 5S methodology in workplaces. The time consumption analysis of 5S implementation through shadow boarding demonstrates workers who have been able to perform work more efficiently along with a significant reduction of searching time of tools. The results showed that 5S along with the shadow boarding technique creates improvement in efficiency, workspace, equipment search time, working environment and safety. Consequently, this shadow boarding technique would strongly support the objectives of multinational companies to achieve continuous improvement and higher performance.

Most qualitative characteristics cannot be easily reported numerically. In such cases, each product is inspected and usually divided into two conforming and nonconforming groups based on their qualitative characteristics. Since nowadays products and processes have generally several interdependent qualitative characteristics, it is necessary to use multivariate quality control methods to make the relationship between variables and their variations. To do this, the sampling of the considered qualitative characteristic is done at the specified time intervals to check the control of the process over time after drawing the considered statistic on the control chart. A common problem while sampling is measurement error. It affects the performance of control charts, impairs their ability to detect changes in the process, and increases the cost and time to search for out-of-control situations. In this paper, the effect of measurement error on the performance of the Multivariate Nonconforming Proportion (MNP) control chart has been evaluated based on the criterion of Average Run Length (ARL) for the first time. The results imply that the measurement error has a considerable impact on the performance of this chart. Also, the results indicate that if the defective items have been wrongly considered as correct items, we would have a higher ARL compared to an ideal and accurate system. On the other hand, if the system considers right items as defective, we will have a lower ARL than the ideal and accurate system. It is proved that if both errors (considering faulty items as correct ones and vice versa) occur simultaneously, the ARL will be reduced like the previous case.

Sequencing and scheduling are the forms of decision-making approach that play a vital role in the automation and services industries. Efficient scheduling can help the industries to achieve the full potential of their supply chains. Conversely, inefficient scheduling causes additional idle time for machines and reduces productivity, which may escalate the product price. This study aims to find the most effective algorithm for solving sequencing and scheduling problems in a non-preemptive flow shop environment where the objective functions are to reduce the total elapsed time and idle time. In this research, four prominent exact algorithms are considered and examined their efficiency by calculating the ‘total completion time’ and their goodness. In order to demonstrate the comparative analysis, numerical examples are illustrated. A Gantt chart is additionally conducted to exhibit the efficiency of these algorithms graphically. Eventually, a feasible outcome for each condition has been obtained by analyzing these four algorithms, which leads to getting a competent, time and cost-efficient algorithm.

In this research, we present a mathematical model for allocating people to different jobs and shifting employees between related jobs. This action will reduce the repetitive activities workload and ergonomic risks at the planned time horizon, and finally increases the organization's efficiency. In this proposed model, the devices are semi-automatic and it is possible to allocated more than one task to one person. Regarding the modeling and the case study of the constraints, it is shown that the complexity of this problem type is NP-Hard, and the result of accurate methods for solving the problem is not possible in a reasonable time. Due to this Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm is used to study the proposed model and comparison of the results of SA algorithm with the results of precise optimization methods shows the better performance of the Simulated Annealing algorithm in terms of the time and answer quality.

The Hungarian Algorithm is the most famous method for solving Linear Assignment Problems (LAP). Linear Assignment Method (LAM), as an application of LAP, is among the most popular approaches for solving Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problems. LAM assigns a priority to each alternative based on a Decision Matrix (DM). The elements of the DM are often deterministic in MCDM. However, in the real world, the value of the elements of the DM might not be specified precisely. Hence, using interval grey numbers as the value of the DM to consider the uncertainty is reasonable. In this research, for providing a real circumstance, the classic Hungarian algorithm has been extended by using the concept of grey preference degree as the Grey Hungarian Algorithm (GHA) to solve LAM under uncertainty. To verify the proposed GHA, a real case for ranking several items of mining machinery warehouse from Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex has been solved by the GHA. Also, the same case study has been prioritized by two other methods: Grey TOPSIS and Grey VIKOR. The results of all mentioned approaches are identical, showing the validity of the proposed GHA developed in this research.

In managing a supply chain, the green approach has become pivotal for the sake of environmental, economic, and social sustainability. In this paper, we consider the environmental performance prediction in managing sourcing of a textile industry supply chain. Specifically, this research focuses on the dying sector of an emerging economy. We identify eleven green supply chain performance indicators and four performance measures and perform both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The performance is predicted using a probabilistic model based on a Bayesian belief network (BBN). The robustness of the findings is validated through a sensitivity analysis. The outcomes suggest that ‘total suspended solids’ (TSS) and ‘volatile organic compounds’ (VOC) are the most important indicators for the case company in this study with the highest entropy reduction. Also, ‘air emission’ was found to be the most impactful performance measure for entropy reduction. This research work will help improve the decision-making capability of the managers and practitioners considering the total environmental performance of the green supply chain. The improved decision-making will also improve overall organizational performance of a green supply chain.

Osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip is the most common joint disease in elderly people and associated with significant physical disability. Pain relief is a primary treatment of hip OA. When the patient with hip OA has failed medical treatment modalities and remains in pain, the patient should be referred for hip replacement surgery in which the damaged surfaces of the joint is removed and replaced with a set of artificial ball-and-socket implants. In this research, a proposition for Additive Manufacturing (AM) is advocated to produce the bone implant to enhance the customer satisfaction along with minimization of costs. AM primarily differs from traditional material removal process because it creates product by successive deposits of material layer by layer. Because of this difference, the cost and operational methodologies are distinct from traditional manufacturing. For this reason, additive manufacturing is adopted for this artificial bone manufacturing and a stochastic optimization model is proposed to help a manufacturer decide when AM is best for them.

This paper discusses the inefficient and inaccurate raw material supply at a food company which results in a backlog. This means the overstock occurs so that the improvement of inventory control needs to be done. ABC classification is firstly utilized as input for Material Requirements Planning (MRP). This paper focuses on four products which are classified into A class. Then, this paper discusses the Triple Exponential Smoothing (TES) as the forecasting method. Aggregate planning is also conducted for better production planning. The results of aggregate planning provide solutions to increase the workforce to balance production capacity by the number of demands. Squared Coefficient of Variation (SCV) calculations indicates the demand follows a static pattern. Therefore, the appropriate lot sizing method is the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) to carry out the production needs. Finally, this paper uses capacity planning using Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) and Capacity Requirement Planning (CRP) methods. As a result, the capacity meets the Master Production Schedule (MPS) as well as MRP and they are feasible to be implemented.

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a novel approach that governed production management in recent years. In complex and dynamic environments, the petrochemical industry requires an investigation system similar to those used by other organizations to inform about its activity's desirability, especially in complex and dynamic environments. This research focused on the petrochemical company supply chain. Laboratory studies, experts, and visits to petrochemical sites were used to identify production processes and determine indicators. After that, they were evaluated with an envelopment model and a coefficient corresponding to the identified petrochemical supply chain structure. The aggregate and componentwise efficiency of the studied units in petrochemical were also examined from 2016 to 2019.
