SMEs is one of the pillars that can improve people's lives and is very meaningful for the government. In order for SMEs to continue to develop, even increase, it is necessary to measure service quality and customer satisfaction so that SMEs can identify weaknesses in their business as evaluation material. The research method begins by reviewing the literature related to the SMEs service industry, classifying, choosing what is appropriate for this research. The results of the research show that several methods can be used to measure, analyze, evaluate, and develop products. The KANO method with functional dysfunction assessment to identify customer desires based on attributes can have a significant influence on customer satisfaction. Servqual with a 5 gap analysis model for customer satisfaction analysis, IPA can be used to measure, test, analyze and determine service priority improvements, while QFD is broader. In addition to evaluating the quality of services and products, it is also for development or innovation and is not limited to the service industry but can be used to develop products for the manufacturing industry. Every business needs to be evaluated to improve performance, several approaches such as KANO, Servqual, IPA, QFD can be used as a reference for measuring, evaluating and developing to continue to improve and develop the business.

Most qualitative characteristics cannot be easily reported numerically. In such cases, each product is inspected and usually divided into two conforming and nonconforming groups based on their qualitative characteristics. Since nowadays products and processes have generally several interdependent qualitative characteristics, it is necessary to use multivariate quality control methods to make the relationship between variables and their variations. To do this, the sampling of the considered qualitative characteristic is done at the specified time intervals to check the control of the process over time after drawing the considered statistic on the control chart. A common problem while sampling is measurement error. It affects the performance of control charts, impairs their ability to detect changes in the process, and increases the cost and time to search for out-of-control situations. In this paper, the effect of measurement error on the performance of the Multivariate Nonconforming Proportion (MNP) control chart has been evaluated based on the criterion of Average Run Length (ARL) for the first time. The results imply that the measurement error has a considerable impact on the performance of this chart. Also, the results indicate that if the defective items have been wrongly considered as correct items, we would have a higher ARL compared to an ideal and accurate system. On the other hand, if the system considers right items as defective, we will have a lower ARL than the ideal and accurate system. It is proved that if both errors (considering faulty items as correct ones and vice versa) occur simultaneously, the ARL will be reduced like the previous case.

Process capability indices are widely used to assess whether the outputs of an in-control process meet the specifications. The commonly used indices are , , and . In most applications, the quality characteristics are assumed to follow normal distribution. But, in practice, many quality characteristics, e.g. count data, proportion defective etc. follow Poisson or binomial distributions, and these characteristics usually have one-sided specification limit. In these cases, computations of or using the standard formula is inappropriate. In order to alleviate the problem, some generalized indices (e.g. index, index, index and index) are proposed in literature. The variant of these indices for one-sided specification are and , and ¸ and , and respectively. All these indices can be computed in any process regardless of whether the quality characteristics are discrete or continuous. However, the same value for different generalized indices and or signifies different capabilities for a process and this poses difficulties in interpreting the estimates of the generalized indices. In this study, the relative goodness of the generalized indices is quantifying capability of a process is assessed. It is found that only or gives proper assessment about the capability of a process. All other generalized indices give a false impression about the capability of a process and thus usages of those indices should be avoided. The results of analysis of multiple case study data taken from Poisson and binomial processes validate the above findings.

The aim of this study is to implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in a continuous injection molding industry. By implementing TPM, the industry can increase their Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and productivity. Before implementing TPM, overall equipment efficiency, availability rate, performance rate, and quality rate of the injection molding machine were 74.9%, 88.54%, 88.5%, and 95.6%, respectively. It needs to be improved for good operating condition of machines. In this paper, some tools are suggested to improve their productivity and maintenance procedure. These tools are cause and effect diagram, Pareto chart, WWBLA, and preventive maintenance schedule. TPM program is to change the culture of the company maintenance policy with involvement of all employees toward the maintenance system of the company. Through the proper planning of maintenance schedule, productivity can be improved. This schedule helps to maintain machines in good operating conditions as well as a good OEE value, and a world class standard OEE is achieved.

Packaging plays an important role in ensuring that the produced product is well contained, protected, and preserved. Due to its significance, the researcher decided to undertake research aiming at examining the awareness of local producers towards products’ packaging. This research employs a descriptive design in carrying it out where a sample of 120 respondents from different companies give a list of questions regarding packaging and also inspection is done in the market to observe how the products have been packed. Findings revealed that the awareness of Tanzanian local producers is still very low whereby 75% of packaging workers are unskilled. Also, training regarding packaging is not conducted in an effective manner as most companies train their employee only once when they employ them. It is also noted that the local producers mainly focus on the ability of the package to contain the product paying less attention to the ability of the package to protect and preserve. Based on these findings, it is suggested that the knowledge of value chain management has to be imparted to local producers by the local business institution. It is also proposed that training should be given frequently to packaging crew to ensure they do their job effectively. Moreover, it is recommended that to increase the efficiency and cost reduction, it is better for companies to employ experienced workers or those with at least form six or high level of education in packaging section as it is easy to train and they can understand easily.

In the statistical process control when the process is very sensitive and control limit shifts are the prime concerns, there fuzzy control charts can be a better solution. In decision making, extra “rather in control” and “rather out of control” decisions facilitate to find out the slight changes in the control chart. The automation of fuzzy control chart in the Excel VBA makes the data input and decisions making process faster. The vagueness of the data is removed as the charts deal with the triangular or trapezoidal area rather than some points in the control limits. Alongside the fuzzy control charts, Marcucci approach has been followed to find out the goodness-of-fit of the samples and to find out the effectiveness of fuzzy control charts.

The role of primary education is to ensure the broad-based development of pupils. This means ensuring that all pupils are able to develop their cognitive, social, emotional, cultural, and physical skills to the best of their abilities and preparing them for their further school career. It is known that education in Bangladesh is highly subsided. The government has given the highest importance to the education sector to ensure education for all. A large percentage of a country's national budget is set to promote education and make it more accessible. But the education system of Bangladesh faces several problems. Low performances in primary levels and dropout are matters of concern because the low performances can result of poverty, widening disparities in education opportunities and facilities, poor school attendance, less contact time in school, lack of skilled school teachers, and lack of coordination between parents and the teachers. For that reasons, this research is conducted to implement the Total Quality Management (TQM) to improve the condition and the quality of the primary education system. Total Quality Management is a tool for ensuring proper quality in the entire organization. The main objective of the research is to eliminate problems such as the lack of quality of teachers and to improve the relation between teachers, students, and parents. Another aim of this research is to improve the quality of the environment of the class room in order to motivate the students to go to school; so, the dropout can be reduced.

In the real world, the overall quality of a product is often represented partly by the measured values of some quantitative variables and partly by the observed values of some ordinal variables. The settings for the manufacturing processes of such products are required to be optimized considering the quantitative as well as the ordinal response variables. But the simultaneous optimization of the quantitative and the ordinal response variables are rarely attempted by the researchers. In this paper, a new approach for simultaneous optimization of quantitative and ordinal responses are presented, which are developed by integrating multiple regression techniques, ordinal logistic regression technique, and Taguchi’s Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) concept. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated by analyzing two experimental data sets taken from the literature. The comparison of results reveals that the proposed method leads to the best optimal solution with respect to the total SNR as well as the Mean Square Error (MSE) of individual responses

The present study aims to removal of copper ions (Cu2+) as a heavy metal ion from aqueous solution by a high inorganic molecular weight compound. This compound is modified clay (activated bentonite) which is used in oil well drilling, and obtained from local company. The experimental results showed that it is an adsorption reaction that follows Langmuir isotherm model. The maximum removal of copper ions was obtained at low copper ion initial concentration, high adsorbent dosage, low temperature, and high agitation speed. It is clear from the results obtained that the compound within the experimental range investigated cannot be considered as a method for the removal of waste stream within the experimental range investigated as the residual concentration is higher than the limits which are allowed by the environmental limits which are allowed by the low which is 5 ppm. These results may be due to the high initial copper concentration used in this work and low dosage of the compound.

The organization can fully benefit from efforts to improve quality through programs such as total quality management. Just-in-time and total quality management combine to support the successful implementation of agile manufacturing programs which, in turn, result in the organization’s ability to respond rapidly and aggressively to changes in customer demand. We contend that adoption of a market orientation combined with just in time, total quality management, and agile manufacturing programs leads to organizational capabilities of relatively low cost operation, high quality product and service production, and rapid response to changes in customer needs and demand. While studies on total quality management implementation appear to focus on identifying the role of total quality management practices on organizational success, total quality management practices are still directed from within the organization. Market orientation, however, requires more external engagement and shares the same ultimate aim as total quality management implementations.
