Investigating stock price trends and determining future stock prices have become focal points for researchers within the finance sector. However, predicting stock price trends is a complex task due to the multitude of influencing factors. Consequently, there has been a growing interest in developing more precise and heuristic models and methods for stock price prediction in recent years. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of technical indicators for stock price prediction, including closing price, lowest price, highest price, and the exponential moving average method. To thoroughly analyze the relationship between these technical indicators and stock prices over predefined time intervals, we employ an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). This ANN is optimized using a combination of Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Harmony Search (HS) algorithms as meta-heuristic techniques for enhancing stock price prediction. The GA is employed for selecting the most suitable optimization indicators. In addition to indicator selection, PSO and HS are utilized to fine-tune the Neural Network (NN), minimizing network errors and optimizing weights and the number of hidden layers simultaneously. We employ eight estimation criteria for error assessment to evaluate the proposed model's performance and select the best model based on error criteria. An innovative aspect of this research involves testing market efficiency and identifying the most significant companies in Iran as the statistical population. The experimental results clearly indicate that a hybrid ANN-HS algorithm outperforms other algorithms regarding stock price prediction accuracy. Finally, we conduct run tests, a non-parametric test, to evaluate the Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH) in its weak form.

Food product has a characteristic of continuous quality deterioration until the food is consumed. Cold chain distribution can improve the sustainability of the product quality but requires a more significant investment for storage facilities and vehicles as well as higher operation cost to control the temperature. This research focuses on a distribution problem faced by an ice cream distributor. In this paper, we developed a mixed-integer non-linear programming model to minimize the total cost, which consists of fixed cost, transportation cost of the vehicles, energy cost to keep the cold storage temperature, and inventory cost. The model considers the vehicle characteristics and hard time-windows for the distributor and all the stores. The implementation of this model demonstrates that the proposed route is able to reduce the total cost.

The Fuzzy Linear Programming problem has been used as an important planning tool for the different disciplines such as engineering, business, finance, economics, etc. In this paper, we proposed a modified algorithm to find the fuzzy optimal solution of fully fuzzy linear programming problems with equality constraints. Recently, Ezzati et al. (Applied Mathematical Modelling, 39 (2015) 3183-3193) suggested a new algorithm to solve fully fuzzy linear programming problems. In this paper, we modified this algorithm and compare it with other existing methods. Furthermore, for illustration, some numerical examples and one real problem are used to demonstrate the correctness and usefulness of the proposed method.

We present a method which tries to omit to apply personally partial views in making a decision in order to make the results more reliable. This paper focuses on ranking investing opportunities. The strategy which has used is the Data Envelopment Analysis that the 4 main sub-models including Charnes, Cooper & Rhodes (CCR) model, Input Oriented Banker, Charnes & Cooper (BCC) model, Output Oriented BCC model, and Additive model have been utilized. The contribution of this research is using 4 DEA models for ranking projects in terms of feasibility whereas in the similar researches, as what found in the literature, the mentioned models have not been taken into account simultaneously. The developed model is applied in an Iranian investment company which has 15 investment opportunities that we have evaluated and ranked them based on 5 financial indices with DEA mechanism. Our approach can be performed by any investment company or financier to rank their investment projects considering feasibility study results of each investment opportunity.

Inpainting or completion is used with the purpose of restoring damaged images and video frames. This paper proposes an applicable algorithm to inpaint corrupted subjects in video frames. To begin with, background and foreground (moving subject) are separated from each other in each frame, with the aim of getting to a more visually pleasant result. Static background inpainting is done using a patch-based method. To inpaint the corrupted moving subject, a subject-based method that is an improvement on the rigid object-based method is used in this study to consider the special issue of inpainting the human body. To fill in the holes created by occluding subjects the most appropriate template is found using a similarity measure which is based on both contour and pixel values. The inpainted video is acquired by superimposing the completed foreground on the inpainted background

In the statistical process control when the process is very sensitive and control limit shifts are the prime concerns, there fuzzy control charts can be a better solution. In decision making, extra “rather in control” and “rather out of control” decisions facilitate to find out the slight changes in the control chart. The automation of fuzzy control chart in the Excel VBA makes the data input and decisions making process faster. The vagueness of the data is removed as the charts deal with the triangular or trapezoidal area rather than some points in the control limits. Alongside the fuzzy control charts, Marcucci approach has been followed to find out the goodness-of-fit of the samples and to find out the effectiveness of fuzzy control charts.

CRM or customer relationship management is a continuous process consisting of creating and applying knowledge and market intelligence to establish and maintain the relationships with customers that have the most efficiency. The customer relationship management (CRM) software is an important application in e-commerce. The concept of customer relationship management has come into the consideration in today's world. Nowadays, the organizations put their customers in the heart of all their activities, and their marketing and sales strategies are being revised based on this. On the other hand, it should be kept in mind that the most crucial concern of all today firms and enterprises can be recognized as how to communicate with the customers and the customer relationship management. Today's organizations consider themselves committed to provide the bests for their customers, and the goal of customer relationship management is to develop permanent and long-term dependencies between company and customers. Sometimes even the CRM is known as a customer-oriented strategy that deals with the most valuable assets of a business, which are the customers. Two important influencing factors on the performance of customer relationship management include the customer' profile and the customer participation.

The importance of Customer Satisfaction is quite evident to any business or organization mainly because it plays a vital role in any industry. But unfortunately when it comes to health care and more specifically, hospitals, clinics and health systems, enormous rate of failure related to quality and reliability of services which is consequently followed by customer dissatisfaction is reported[1, 2]. And that’s because hospital “customers” are very different than those in any other industry for one important reason, they don’t want to be there. This paper aims to investigate the failure data related to Customer Satisfaction on account of quality and reliability. Number of failures and severity were used to model the quality related satisfaction, while reliability related satisfaction is modeled based upon number of visits to hospital (including its clinic), delays before receiving treatments and time interval between visits. Eventually the model is constructed on basis of quality and reliability related satisfaction values.

Equipment selection is one of the most important aspects of open pit design. The selection of equipment for mining applications is not a well-defined process and because it involves the interaction of several subjective factors or criteria, decisions are often complicated and may even embody contradictions. The aim of this study is introducing a multi-criteria decision making method for selecting the most appropriate combination of drilling, loading and haulage equipment using a state of the art comprehensive model. The proposed method consists of two stages, first is determining the weight of each criteria which affects the decision using fuzzy analytic network process (FANP), the next step is calculating the score of each possible combination of mining equipment using Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The proposed methodology is applied for Sungun copper mine which is the largest open-cast copper mine in Iran and is among the most important copper deposits in Middle East and finally the most appropriate combination of mining equipment is determined for this open-pit mine.

Preventive maintenance is a broad term that encompasses a set of activities aimed at improving the overall reliability and availability of a system. Designers of the preventive maintenance schedules attempt to minimize the overall cost of system operation. There is no substitute for perfection in maintenance to ensure zero breakdowns in machine; therefore it is necessary to get a machinery breakdown insurance against the risks that might occur at business. Previous researches didn’t consider the effect of engineering insurance on maintenance scheduling while it affect the cost function of maintenance scheduling seriously. Engineering insurance pays for all repair costs of machinery, therefore the cost function of maintenance scheduling is affected. This paper presents a new cost function for maintenance scheduling by considering the effects of engineering insurance. Due to the uncertainty in the cost parameters related to the cost function which are very common in application, the paper proposed the application of the scenario-based approach for robust design of maintenance scheduling. Then, genetic algorithm is developed for obtaining the optimal solution of the proposed robust model and the effectiveness of this model is illustrated through a numerical example.

Distribution centers (DCs) play an important key role in supply chain. Delivering the right items to the right customers at the right time, at the right cost is a critical mission of the DCs. Today, customer satisfaction is an important factor for supplier companies in order to gain more profits. Optimizing the number of fulfilled orders (An order that the required quantity of all items in that order are available from the inventory and can be send to the customer) in a time period may lead to delay some major orders; and consequently lead to dissatisfaction of these customers, ultimately loss them and lead to lower profits. In addition, some inventory may remain in the warehouse in a time-period and over the time become corrupt. It also leads to reduce the benefit of supplier companies in the supply chain. Therefore, in this paper, we will present a dynamic mathematical model to flow process /storage process of goods for order picking planning problem (OPP) in DCs. And we will optimize the number of fulfilled orders in this problem with regard to a) the coefficient of each customer, b) to meet each customer's needs in the least time c) probabilistic demand of customers, and d) taking inventory to send to customers at the earliest opportunity to prevent their decay. After presenting the mathematical model, we use Lingo software to solve small size problems. Complexity of the mathematical model will intensify by increasing the numbers of customers and products in distribution center, Therefore Lingo software will not able to solve these problems in a reasonable time. Therefore, we will develop and use a genetic algorithm (GA) for solving these problems.

Packaging plays an important role in ensuring that the produced product is well contained, protected, and preserved. Due to its significance, the researcher decided to undertake research aiming at examining the awareness of local producers towards products’ packaging. This research employs a descriptive design in carrying it out where a sample of 120 respondents from different companies give a list of questions regarding packaging and also inspection is done in the market to observe how the products have been packed. Findings revealed that the awareness of Tanzanian local producers is still very low whereby 75% of packaging workers are unskilled. Also, training regarding packaging is not conducted in an effective manner as most companies train their employee only once when they employ them. It is also noted that the local producers mainly focus on the ability of the package to contain the product paying less attention to the ability of the package to protect and preserve. Based on these findings, it is suggested that the knowledge of value chain management has to be imparted to local producers by the local business institution. It is also proposed that training should be given frequently to packaging crew to ensure they do their job effectively. Moreover, it is recommended that to increase the efficiency and cost reduction, it is better for companies to employ experienced workers or those with at least form six or high level of education in packaging section as it is easy to train and they can understand easily.

Index tracking is one of the most important passive strategies which describes the process of attempting to track the performance of some specified benchmark indexes. Most recent studies determined security returns in conventional models by the precise historical data. However, such precise data are not always available and it is hard to forecast security returns with stochastic values. Therefore, to handle such imprecise uncertainty, considering security returns as variables with imprecise distributions, i.e., fuzzy variables are recommended. In these studies, researchers have studied and experimented with various risk-measure methods for index tracking portfolio selection. Models which were extended based on Markowitz portfolio selection model have used the single period variance of returns as a risk measure. Since forecasting future returns of portfolio is uncertain, we consider these returns as fuzzy variables in this study. We also apply Value-at-Risk as the risk measure whichhas not yet been established as risk measure in index tracking portfolio selection problems. The model is tested, using Tehran Price Index (TEPIX) and computational results are presented at the end.

Selecting the most appropriate and optimal facility location for a new organization or expansion of an existing location is an important strategic issue. The location, which results in higher economic benefits through increased productivity and good distribution network, is the best location. It is necessary to compare the performance characteristics in a decisive way when a choice is to be made from among several alternative facility locations. While the facility location selection problem includes multiple conflicting criteria and a finite set of potential candidate alternatives, different multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods can be effectively applied to solve such type of problem. In this paper, we apply three MCDM methods on a facility location selection problem and their relative ranking performances are compared. Because of disagreement in the ranks obtained by the three different MCDM methods, a final ranking method based on REGIME is also proposed to facilitate the decision making process. Then, the results of this study are compared by the results of the same study.

The selection of right project in a six sigma program is a major concern for the early success and long term acceptance within any organization, as projects are expensive and require considerable human effort, money, and time. Selection of critical six sigma project, however, is a real challenge in practice. This study aims to develop a novel approach for the identification of critical six sigma project based on extent analysis method of fuzzy AHP. To explore effectiveness of the approach, an empirical case study of a manufacturing firm which produces various types of precision machined components, is demonstrated.

For example, before the occurrence of a repeated failure can identify risky areas and detect them. If we assumed, service provider are as customers that used government services, the managers can evaluate productivity of service providers and choose the right reward system or the decision for using more service providers. No technical managers can use this model Because of its simple structure. The above system has been simulated with the Arena software and because the system simulation credit on random numbers we have used the data registered in the system for probability distribution function.

Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is being widely used to detect and eliminate known and/or potential failures, problems, errors and so on from system design, process, and/or service, before they reach the customer. It can be done by calculating the risk priority number which is the product of three factors: occurrence, severity and detectability. A lot of efforts have been made to overcome the shortcomings of the crisp RPN calculation and extend it to fuzzy environment. In this study, the presented fuzzy approach allows experts to describe the variables of risk priority number using linguistic terms by applying the method of fuzzy axiomatic design (FAD). At the final part of this paper a hypothetical case study demonstrated the applicability of the FMEA model under fuzzy environment.

These systems aim to provide users with suggestions about items that are likely to be of their interest. Collaborative Filtering (CF) is one of the most successful approaches in recommender systems. Regardless of its success in many application domains, CF has main limitations such as sparsity, cold start, gray sheep and scalability problems. In order to overcome these limitations, hybrid CF systems have been used which combine CF with other recommendation approaches. The aim of this thesis is to solve the face-detection in the first attempt using the Haar-cascade classifier from images containing simple and complex backgrounds. It is one of the preeminent detectors in terms of reliability and speed. We introduced a new method to deal with the frontal face images by using a modified Haar cascade algorithm. By using this algorithm, we can detect the image as well as the coordinates. The main attraction of this paper is to solve different types of images having one object, two objects, and three objects which can’t be solved by any of the existing methods but can be solved by our proposed method.

Today, a production enterprise cannot survive without using computer-based machines. Nevertheless, not all enterprises have enough money to invest in such manufacturing resources. On the other hand, handling the resource or providing appropriate platform is not easy at all. For companies, Cloud-based strategies give them a chance to bring their inherent knowledge and intelligence to every business case and cause a quick response by reducing the cost of investment. Manufacturers know that providing capacity, according to demand will increase the profit and help them to get new work contracts. In the recent century, intelligent manufacturing would be the one in which all information is available in the most useful way, right where and when that it is needed to hold an optimum operation or response such as cloud manufacturing. This paper aims to provide a framework for how using cloud services emerge at obtaining lean concepts in the manufacturing companies. The research has conducted through semi-structured interviews among professionals in Cloud-based environments and production systems. Key managers or employees from different levels have selected. Analyzing interview transcripts using a constructivist approach to grounded theory is supposed to result in a model for how to develop cloud service models according to the lean concepts, especially in manufacturing frameworks.
